Blank page

Reported by: mgades Owned by: drarok
Priority: Medium Milestone:
Component: HellaWorld Version: 1.9
Keywords: Cc:

Description

I have just unpacked the 1.9 tarball. I followed the instructions on http://cheezyblog.net/software/turn-your-freebsd-box-into-a-usenet-downloader/ to configure (changing password and chmod'ing the two files), but all I get when typing in the url is a blank page.

To troubleshoot I also did a AllowOverride? All directive in the Apache config for the dir that holds the hellaworld files. HTTP Return code is 200, so it shouldn't be a permission problem.

FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE PHP 5.2.6 Apache 1.3.41 with mod_ssl

Thanks in advance! Morten

Tried with Safari 3.1.2 and Firefox 3 from a remote host Also tried using lynx from localhost (on the server running hellanzb)

can you get to the default apache page? when you have apache going and you go to your site you should have a page that says something like "IT WORKS!" if you arent getting that page then Apache is where your problem lies.

this may help http://www.debiantutorials.org/content/view/175/268/

This is happening to me, too. I'm using a properly configured lighttpd with good permissions. The page isn't blank when hellanzb isn't running (it prints a connection refused error with the default style). Something is wrong here.

An update: setting 'showfinished' to false is a workaround; disabling this function will make the page draw.

If a fatal PHP error is occurring, I'd expect there to be something in the logs. Are there any useful messages in the log files?
